How to get Norwegian driving license for moped i.e. Category AM145?

Getting a Norwegian driving license is a big hassle. You need to complete mandatory training and pass theory test before clearing the practical test. Unfortunately there is no Jugad for getting driving license for Car i.e Category B. It is a painful process and you have to bear with it. It takes lots of money (approx 30K NOK) and time (few months) to get it. However, one can get driving license for moped if he/she is born before 1st Jan 1985 without hassle. All you need to do is apply.

Please note that you can only drive moped with unladen weight upto 150KG and less than 50CC. Please check moped type before you buy one because fine in Norway is extremely high. (And Police will throw the person in jail if he/she tries to bribe them.. Be careful!!)

Steps

1) Login to https://www.vegvesen.no with your Norwegian bankid

2) Go to "your driving license" and click on "Apply for driving licences"

3) Then you need to select category which is AM145. Please note that this category appears if your DoB is before 1st Jan 1985.

3) Once applied, you shall get an email from Statens Vegvesen that license has been given to you.

4) Go to Trafikkstasjon with your passport, show them the letter and pay the fee.

5) You will get the license in less than 10 days to your address. Enjoy driving in Norway
